I believe that all children should have an opportunity to learn in a safe, nurturing , and enriching environment that promotes a love of learning for a lifetime. Students should have enjoyable opportunities for learning in a classroom that provides individualized and differentiated experiences that allow them to wonder and answer questions through exploration. Students should enjoy coming to school each day and be motivated to question and learn. Along with direct instruction, teachers need to act as the facilitator that allows students to be actively engaged in their learning. Students need to be able to make connections as they learn concepts and ideas that are applicable to the real world.

In my classroom, I want students to have the freedom to express themselves in a healthy way that allows our classroom community to thrive and remain a positive environment. Students need opportunities to learn physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills in a variety of settings in order to prepare them to be life-long learners.
